Wolves and Everton played out a 1-1 draw at Molineux, with both sides missing key chances to claim victory. Jack Harrison's deflected strike gave Everton the lead, but Marshall Munetsi equalized before half-time to earn Wolves a valuable point in their battle for Premier League survival.
Everton, coming into the match unbeaten in seven, started confidently and took the lead in the 33rd minute. Harrison, who had gone 36 Premier League appearances without a goal, finally ended his drought when his effort took a crucial deflection off Matt Doherty, leaving Jose Sa wrong-footed.
Wolves, however, responded quickly. Just seven minutes later, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde surged forward on a counterattack and played a precise pass into Munetsi, who slotted a first-time finish past Jordan Pickford. The Zimbabwean midfielder became only the third player from his country to score in the Premier League, following in the footsteps of Peter Ndlovu and Benjani.
The second half was a scrappy affair, with both sides creating half-chances but failing to convert. Wolves' Jorgen Strand Larsen forced a save from Pickford, while at the other end, Beto was denied by an excellent fingertip stop from Sa. Despite both teams pushing for a winner, the game ended in a draw.
The result keeps Wolves six points clear of the relegation zone, though they remain winless in nine Premier League games without Matheus Cunha. The Brazilian, serving the first of a three-match suspension, was sorely missed in the final third.
Everton, meanwhile, extend their unbeaten run to eight matches and climb to 14th in the table, moving ahead of Manchester United and West Ham on goal difference. David Moyes' side will be disappointed not to have taken all three points but continue to build momentum as the season progresses.
